Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) on Monday organised ‘Kisan Bachao-Kheti Bachao Rally’ in the State Capital and at every district headquarters of the State against three farm laws that is Farmer Production Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act 2020, Farmer Empowerment and Protection Price Assurance Agricultural Services Act 2020 and Essential Commodity Amendment act brought by the Centre. The programme was also called Tractor Rally.

The programme was scheduled in the series of ongoing stage wise movements in protest against the bills. The Tractor Rally led by JPCC Chief and Finance Minister, Jharkhand Government, in protest against the “black laws” passed by the Government of India from Parliament. The rally started from Late Savanna Lakda chowk at Namkum and reached the old Assembly ground.

Hitting hard on the Central Government Oraon said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government passed three black laws in the Parliament and directly attacked 62 crore farmers to provide benefits to his businessmen friends. He also said that the Central Government has restored the zamindari system, which was abolished by the Congress Party to promote hoarding and black-marketing. “The backbone of the Country’s economy in both the tenures of the Modi Government -agriculture has gone into deep crisis. Due to non-availability of minimum support price on time, the debt burden on farmers will increase. Steps like demonetisation shook the cash-based agricultural economy,” he added.

“Through these three black laws, the Modi Government has directly and brutally attacked the livelihood of farmers. This attempt of the Government is an attack on the Green Revolution of the Country. MSP will be taken away from farmers then they will be forced to become slaves of the capitalists through contract farming. Neither the price nor the honor, the farmer will become a laborer on his own farm,” said Oraon.

The party has been agitating in a phased manner continuously since October 02. In the first phase it had held Satyagraha after that sit in demonstration at district and block headquarters across the State, farmers’ conference, signature campaign and Tractor Rally, Kisan Bachao-Kheti Bachao Yatra. The party said that it will continue its agitation till the Centre Government will not withdraw the laws.

Speaking on the occasion Alam said that the party will not allow injustice to the farmers. “Far from listening to the voice of farmers, the voice is being oppressed in Parliament by the BJP and its NDA colleagues and farmers are being beaten with sticks in the streets. The Constitution was strangled in Parliament and the livelihood of farmers and laborers has been directly attacked,” he added.
