Covid-19 tally climbs to 41,777 in U’khand

The tally of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) patients mounted to 41777 in Uttarakhand on Monday with 814 fresh cases of the disease reported by the state health department. The death toll from the disease too mounted to 501 with ten patients succumbing to the disease on Monday. On a positive note 1172 patients were discharged from different hospitals after recovery. A total of 29000 patients have so far recovered from the disease. The percentage recovery for Covid-19 patients in the state is 69.42 percent and the Infection Rate at 7.04 percent.

Five patients of the disease were reported dead at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital on Monday. Three Covid-19 patients expired at Sushila Tiwari government hospital, Haldwani and two patients died at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Monday.

The authorities reported 309 patients of the disease in Dehradun, 111 in Nainital, 110 in Haridwar, 95 in Udham Singh Nagar, 74 in Almora, 24 in Pauri, 23 in Tehri, 22 in Uttarkashi, 15 in Rudraprayag, 13 in Champawat and nine patients in Chamoli district. Five and four patients were reported in Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts respectively.

Out of the 1172 patients discharged, 307 were from Dehradun, 272 from Haridwar, 180 from Nainital, 158 Udham Singh Nagar, 108 from Tehri, 37 from Almora, 31 each from Pithoragarh and Pauri, 24 Rudraprayag and 11 from Champawat district.

Uttarakhand now has 12075 active patients of the disease with Dehradun maintaining its top position in the table with 4241 active patients of the disease. Dehradun is followed by Haridwar with 2311 active patients while Nainital is at third position with 1381 active patients.  Udham Singh Nagar has 1259,  Pauri 685, Uttarkashi 405, Pithoragarh 347, Chamoli 304, Almora 302, Tehri 291, Bageshwar 183 and Rudraprayag 139 active patients of Covid-19.

To prevent spread of the disease, the administration has created 546 containment zones in different parts of the state.
