Students proved their merit once again by registering overwhelming performance in the CBSE Class 10 exam. The results of the coveted exams were announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Ashish Kumar Singh from DAV NIT student topped the city by scoring 98.4 % marks. Nivedita Paul from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tatanagar was crowned the second topper scoring 98.2 % marks. With 98 per cent marks, DAV Public School Bistupur student Deepanshu Sau, Devashish Raj of Sant Nandlal Smriti Vidya Mandir, Ghatsila and Deep Das of Valley View School were joint third scoring 98 % marks. Karuna Pradhan from Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya bagged the fourth place scoring 97.8 % while Rahul Mahato DAV Public School Bistupur was fifth in the list of city toppers scoring 97.4 % marks.
Nivedita Paul from Kendriya Vidyalaya Tatanagar has made her parents and the school proud by scoring 98.2 % marks and that too without tuitions. “I never took tuitions not even during exam time and always believed that self study is always more productive where you maintain a rhythm in studies and fix a plan on how to study,” elated Nivedita said.
“I always asked my parents and teachers when in doubt. During normal days I used to study for 3 to 4 hours but the time was doubled one month before the exam,” said Nivedita, adding, “I want to complete my class 12 from Jamshedpur and then join Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore where I want to carry out research in computer science and aim of becoming Data Scientist.”
The topper has
no interest in social media, mobile and games but Nivedita loves to sing and play harmonium. Nivedita’s father Sandeep Paul is Chief Radiologist at Tatanagar railway Hospital while mother Suparna Paul is a homemaker. Her younger sister studies in class 4. She gave credit for her success to parents, principal and school teachers.
Continuing the tradition, students of DAV Public School, Bistupur again hogged the limelight with 17 students of the school scoring 95 % and above marks. Deepanshu Sau was declared the school topper and third city topper scoring 98 % marks in the CBSE class 10 exams. Principal of DAV Public School Bistupur, Pragya Singh seemed elated with the performance of school kids.
“The school students have excelled and have put up a brilliant performance in this difficult time. The teachers have put in a lot of labour and gave extra classes to the students so that they can give their best, “said Singh.
Students of the city proved their calibre in the CBSE examination and rejoiced along with the school authorities. School campuses and cyber cafes were choc-a-bloc soon after the results were declared.
