Everester Bhawna Dehariya creates Guinness World Records

Indian Mountaineer Bhawna Dehariya, who scaled Mount Everest in 2019, has created Guinness World Records by participating in various record events and promoting the Indian Himalayan Mountain range worldwide.

She participated in an online event organized by Transcend Adventures and Snow Leopard Adventures (Both India) in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on August 15, 2020 along with thousands of other mountaineers from all over the world.

The world Record attempt attracted and gathered a large number of mountaineers from all over the world to post their mountaineering pictures on a designated Facebook page created for promoting the potential of Indian Himalaya to the world. A total 995 participants registered their name in the record and one among them was Bhawna.

Bhawna Dehariya is an Indian mountaineer who hails from small tribal-dominated village of Tamia, Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh. Recently, she completed Diploma in Naturopathy and Yogic Science from Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya, Satna.

On May 22, 2019, she brought laurels to the country by successfully conquering Mount Everest—the tallest peak of the world. She hoisted the Tricolour atop the snow-covered Himalaya.

Besides, she has also successfully climbed summits of the tallest peaks in three other continents of the world. In 2019 itself, Bhawna promoted two of the most prominent Indian festivals by showcasing Indian culture around the world including Diwali which she celebrated at Mount Kilimanjaro of the African continent and on occasion of colourful festival Holi in same year, she spread beautiful colours at the highest peak of Mount Kosciuszko in the continent of Australia.
