Ranchi police on Sunday arrested five dreaded criminals from a house under Chutia police station area and recovered 10 fire weapons on the basis of intelligence inputs.
Addressing a press conference, Ranchi SSP Surendra Kumar Jha said that these criminals were planning to commit robbery besides they had planned to eliminate some people.
However, police refused to disclose their possible targets but sources in Ranchi police said that they had planned to eliminate some businessmen.
Arrested accused were identified as Abhijit Kumar Singh; a native of Dhanbad besides Ajay Singh, Jagat Kumar, Shivnarayan Mahto and Samir Kumar Bagchi who are identified as residents of Ranchi.
Police recovered 10 pistols and revolvers of different make besides 43 live bullets. Other than fire weapons and bullets police also seized Rs 84000 cash, four-wheeler and two-wheeler, one each, from their possession.
While they are set to be produced before the court sources in police said that they will seek their police remand for further questioning.
