Heavy rainfall and snowfall is expected in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday as the cold wave continues to sweep various districts in the State.
The Shimla Meteorological Centre had earlier forecast rain and snowfall from Sunday-Wednesday.A ‘yellow weather’ warning has been issued for heavy rain at isolated places in the mid-hills and snowfall in high hills of the state for Wednesday (November 25).
The Met Department issues colour-coded warnings to alert people ahead of severe or hazardous weather that has the potential to cause damage, widespread disruption or danger to life. Yellow, the least dangerous of all the warnings, indicates the possibility of severe weather over the next few days.
Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti’s district was the coldest place in the state at minus 6.4 degrees Celsius. Kalpa in Kinnaur district recorded a low of minus 2.6 degrees Celsius.Himachal’s capital Shimla recorded a low of 5.1 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Una at 23.2 degrees Celsius.Meanwhile, the Chandigarh Met Department has forecast cloudy conditions in Punjab and Haryana during the next two days.Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana recorded a low of 8.1 degree Celsius, down by one degree from normal.
Amritsar in Punjab recorded a minimum of 5.4 degree Celsius, Ludhiana settled at 6.4 degree Celsius, Patiala 7.8 degrees while in Haryana, Narnaul settled at 6.4 degrees, Ambala saw a low of 7.6 degrees, Hisar 7.7 degrees, Karnal 7.1 degrees and Bhiwani 8.6 degree Celsius.
