Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday reported the highest ever 948 fresh COVID cases and 12 fatalities.
“The death toll reached 562 while the total case tally stood at 35729,” stated Himachal’s evening health bulletin.In the last 24 hours, five deaths were reported in Kangra, three each in Shimla and Hamirpur and one in Kullu, the bulletin stated.
The COVID fatality rate in the state was recorded at 1.57 percent.
Of the 948 fresh cases, a maximum of 375 were reported in Shimla followed by 175 in Mandi, 76 in Kangra, 72 in Kullu, 59 in Chamba. So far, 27981 people have recovered from the virus in the state. 463 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, it said.
As far as COVID parameters are concerned, the hill state recorded 2.1 percent average growth rate of infection. The recovery rate stands at poor 78.3 percent in the state. The active ratio of cases was recorded at 20 percent which means for every 100 confirmed cases, 20 are currently infected in the city.
Till the evening, there were 7150 active cases in the state. Shimla has the highest number of active cases in the state at 1779 followed by 1203 in Mandi and 1033 in Kullu.
So far, 497066 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state, the bulletin added.
