Make 55-hours restrictions a success: CM

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to make the 55-hour restrictions that commenced from Friday night a success to prevent the spread of coronavirus and contagious diseases.
The chief minister said that guidelines should be enforced in totality and offenders should be taken to task.
Senior IAS officials have been rushed to all the 75 districts to monitor the 55-hour restrictions and cleanliness drive while all state ministers have been asked to be present in the districts of which they are in-charge to monitor the drive.
On the other hand, the state government on Friday notified the fine of Rs 500 for not wearing a face mask in public every time. Earlier the fine was Rs 100 for first two offences and then Rs 500.
Yogi Adityanath also asked the police to be strict with people not wearing face masks.
Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi said here on Friday that all markets, offices, mandis and other business  establishments along with village haats would be closed for next 55 hours starting 10 pm on Friday.
“However emergency services like hospitals, medicine shops, home delivery of essential goods would function normally and employees engaged in the duty will be allowed to travel showing their identity cards,” he said, adding that all religious places would remain open on July 11 and 12..
Inter-city buses would not ply along with other public transport but domestic flights and trains would function normally. State buses would be engaged for the passengers coming by train to reach their destinations.
Awasthi said during the restriction period, special cleanliness drive would be launched in the villages and urban areas and it would be monitored by the officials.
Fogging and door-to-door surveillance for COVID-19 and contagious diseases would be done during this two-day period.
