Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary R.P. Mandal on Tuesday chaired a meeting here on the execution of the government's ambitious 'Godhan Nyay Yojana' whose objective is to promote organic fertilizers in agriculture.
The meeting held in Nava Raipur related to the implementation strategy, income and expenditure related to scheme all of which were discussed in detail, said an official statement.
Mandal described the 'Godhan Nyay Yojana' as an innovative scheme which will be launched on the occasion of Hareli festival that is falling on July 20, the communiqué said.
The objective of the scheme is to promote organic fertilizers in agriculture and conserve ‘Godhan’, Mandal said.
Under this scheme, the Chhattisgarh government will procure dung from livestock owners. Thus, to have successful implementation of the scheme, efficient coordination and monitoring is essential, the senior official added.
The Chief Secretary told officials of the agriculture, animal husbandry, rural development, forest and other concerned departments as well as officials at various levels to work in coordination for the scheme to succeed.
