The religious sisters from Uday Social Development Society, Bhopal, St Raphael Co-Ed School and Holy Spirit Convent sisters, located at Jatkhedi carried out the relief work to 4375 families and thereby 17500 members of these families have benefitted for last 28 days.
These charitable organizations have distributed dry ration provision with wheat powder, dal (pulses), spices, sugar, tea powder, salt and cooking oil with the collaboration of Zomato, Action Aid, a Newspaper group and Bhopal Nagar Nigam.
These philanthropical initiative was implemented in 6 wards of Bhopal; 53, 54, 55, 61, 63, 85 in 25 slums and villages of Bhopal like Old Jatkhedi, New Jatkhedi, 48 Juggi, Jaibhim nagar, Sanjay Nagar, bus stop Bagmugalia, Ambedkar Park, Laharpur, Chandbadi, Balaji, Durganagar, Ganesh nagar, Salaia, Kanchar basti, slums near Ruchi Lifescapes, Sanjay Nagar Multi, Bangarasia, Misrod, 11 Mill, Samarda, Sahara etc.
The migrants, blacksmiths, construction workers, and families of daily laborers, domestic workers, widows, senior citizens and other poor people were immensely benefited. Sister Lizy Thomas, the Director of Uday Social Development Society, said that these are only selected the families and individual who are the neediest were given the provision and we still need to reach out to the rest of the people who lack basic necessities and our efforts will continue.
