Tata Power -Delhi Distribution Limited has introduced a smart feature of self meter reading for its consumers during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The feature has been launched in line with the DERC’s guidelines to ensure safety of consumers.
Under this initiative, consumers can get their bills based on the actual meter reading as opposed to the provisional bills, a senior discom official said, adding that consumers will be sent self-meter Reading SMS alerts on their registered mobile numbers, as per their billing cycle.
The link in the SMS will then redirect them to the company’s official website, which makes the process extremely safe and secure, he said.
