‘Teaching arrangements for vocational courses to be made in colleges’

Saturday, 30 October 2021 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Teaching arrangements for any course selected by the students in higher education institutions in the state will be ensured in the college. In this regard, instructions have been issued by the Higher Education Department. According to this, all the colleges of the state will select at least 2 courses out of 25 vocational courses displayed on the portal of the department keeping in view the local needs and opportunities available in employment and ensure their smooth operation.

Additional Commissioner Higher Education Deepak Singh informed that the student can study any one of these professional courses run by the college according to his interest. In case of non-availability of vocational courses of their own interest from the courses available on the departmental website, students will be able to study online vocational courses of equal credit or more credits available on the SWAYAM portal. For this, the student has to obtain written permission from the competent authority of the concerned college.

If the course available on the SWAYAM portal is of more credits than the prescribed credits, the additional credits earned by the student will be shown in the grade card. But the additional credit will not be included in the calculation of CGPA. The department is also providing opportunities to the students to change the previously selected major, minor, elective and vocational courses etc. This arrangement will be completely internal at the college level. The action related to change of subject or faculty in the college by the students is to be completed from November 8 to 20, 2021 on the basis of pre-determined rules.

Students studying in the college will be able to choose the certificate / diploma course conducted in the college along with the degree course.
