26 children freed from traffickers in Delhi

The strict attitude of Chief Minister Hemant Soren on human trafficking is getting success. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the work of rehabilitating the victims of human trafficking is being done continuously from all over the country.

In the latest development, 26 boys and girls of Jharkhand who were taken to Delhi by human traffickers were freed and are being brought to Jharkhand.

Earlier in July itself, 21 children were freed and handed over to their families. These children belonged to Sahebganj, West Singhbhum, Gumla, Dhanbad, Simdega and Bokaro districts of Jharkhand.

In this way a total of 47 children have been freed from the clutches of human traffickers in July. These children have been rescued from different places of Delhi by the Integrated Rehabilitation-cum-Resource Centre, Jharkhand Bhawan, New Delhi with the help of the Delhi Police as per the directions of the Resident Commissioner Mast Ram Meena. The Resident commissioner has said that the children being sent to Jharkhand will be continuously monitored by linking them with the welfare schemes run in the districts.

The Integrated Rehabilitation-cum-Resource Centre plays an important role in human trafficking victims from being freed to their rehabilitation. The Centre is dedicated to repatriate the children of Jharkhand State, who are victims of human trafficking by establishing constant liaison with Child Welfare Committees, Children Homes and Delhi Police of Delhi NCR and bordering States.

The helpline number 10582 is operated 24 hours by the Integrated Rehabilitation Resource Centre.

Counseling and home verification of all boys and girls is done by the personnel of Integrated Rehabilitation-cum-Resource Centre through District Child Protection Officer.

In this work Deputy Local Commissioner cum Senior in-charge IRRC Shahenshah Ali Khan, Nodal Officer, Rehabilitation Resource Center Nachiketa Mishra, Program Coordinator Sunil Kumar Gupta, Consultant Nirmala Khalkho, Prince Kumar, Manju Thakur and core team members sent by the State. Ashok Nayak, Omprakash Tiwari Anmol Kumari Sushila Sundi have contributed significantly.
