After recording zero Covid-19 cases on Wednesday for the first time since June, last year, Chandigarh on Thursday reported one new Covid-19 case, taking the total tally to 61,966. However, no death due to coronavirus was reported on the day in Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana.
The City has lost 811 lives to Covid-19 so far. The number of active cases is 28, the medical bulletin showed, adding that a total of four patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days as per MoHFW guidelines. The overall recoveries in Chandigarh have reached 61,127, it added.
The Director, UT Health Services, Dr Amandeep Kang said, “The city has vaccinated about 91 per cent of its population with the first dose of the Covid vaccine. The Administration is leaving no stone unturned to keep the cases under control.”
