Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said here on Tuesday that the government was for discussions on all the issues related to public interest, development, youth and the rural people.
Yogi Adityanath said this ahead of the commencement of the monsoon session of the state assembly on Tuesday.
"There should be a discussion on COVID-19 control. Uttar Pradesh is the first state to have tested seven crore samples (for COVID-19). It has become the first state to administer six crore vaccine doses. If all the members support, those spreading rumours will be exposed," the chief minister said.
In a series of tweets, the chief minister said, "UP legislature is the biggest in the country. Whatever we do here sends a message to the entire country. Welcome greetings to members who will participate in the discussions on various issues despite the COVID-19 pandemic."
The Samajwadi Party members who staged a protest inside the Vidhan Bhawan also wore mirrors in their bid to shame the government, alleging that it had failed to deliver to the people during their hour of crisis caused by the pandemic.
Meanwhile, UP government spokesman and cabinet minister Sidharth Nath Singh, castigating Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav for creating a divisive environment, said that SP's efforts of creating chaos were not going to shake people's trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
“You can keep saying whatever you want to. People of UP know that Samajwadi Party has already been derailed,” Singh said.
On Tuesday, Akhilesh Yadav took to Twitter and posted a tweet with a hashtag ‘BJP ka Jhoot Sabko Batainge, Bhajpaiyo Ko Aaina Dikhainge’.
Responding to his tweet, Sidharth Nath Singh said that the party whose foundation was based on lies, to whom the public had shown mirror in every election since 2014, was bragging to defeat Bharatiya Janata Party and show it is a mirror. “It is just a matter of a few months; people are ready with the mirror to show them. Till then, keep dreaming like ‘Mungeri Lal,” he said.
"When it comes to questioning the BJP's encounter policy, your pain is natural. Today, due to robust law and order, criminals are surrendering at police stations. Criminals who were earlier patronised by the Samajwadi Party are now behind the bars. Therefore, your pain about criminals is obvious," Singh added.
Akhilesh Yadav had also raised questions on the law and order situation in UP, citing incidents of robbery in Mathura and Gorakhpur.
The government spokesperson said that a party whose only identity was anarchy had no right to speak from a high moral ground. Singh had earlier said that Akhilesh Yadav was no longer aware of the problems of people and that he should step out of his “cool comfort zone” to see reality and accept it.
