CM holds dialogues with enterprising women of rural Jharkhand

Friday, 17 September 2021 | PNS | Ranchi

Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday talked directly with women of rural Jharkhand, who, under the Phoolo Jhano Ashirwad Abhiyan, have been associated with the means of respectable livelihood, leaving the work of manufacturing and selling of wine/liquor. During the dialogue programme the CM asked the women to bring in more such women among them and start a revolution to empower them in the State.

“Thank you Chief Minister. Those who once despised me today have started giving me respect. People know me as Bank Didi. This became possible because of the Phoolo Jhano Ashirwad campaign. I got a loan and now with the support of the Government, I am living a better life,” said an emotional Anima Herrenz from Khunti.

The CM said that the scheme has been started in the name of the brave women of Jharkhand, Phoolo Jhano and today its fruitful results are beginning to emerge. “In poverty and helplessness, women involved in the work of manufacturing and selling Hadiya liquor took advantage of the scheme and due to their self-confidence, they have started creating a story of change. This is a happy moment. Women should be a part of the government. Help the development of the State. Women and men will come together only then the state will progress. The participation of men in society is as important as that of women,” he added.

The CM said that women should come forward in every field. The government is with them and it will support them in other businesses including cow rearing, poultry farming, farming etc. At present, provision has been made to give eggs to school children six days a week to get rid of malnutrition and to provide better health to the coming generation. The women of the State produce eggs by rearing poultry. The State government will buy all the eggs. In this way, women should also manufacture other products like vegetables, grains and leaf plates. The government will buy the products. Just take advantage of all the plans and make it worthwhile.

Soren said that during the Corona period everything had stopped. People were hiding in their homes. At that time the sisters of Sakhi Mandal had done excellent and courageous work. They provided food to the people in the village. No one died of hunger. The members of Sakhi Mandal became an example of the work done towards humanity during this period. The Government has to develop farmers, women and people of rural areas. Unless they are developed, the idea of development of the State is meaningless, he added.

Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam said on the occasion that the effort of the government has been to empower women. For this, the Phoolo Jhano campaign was launched a year ago and provided them interest free loans so that they can get a decent means of livelihood. “The government is serious in this direction. The all-round development of women is the goal of the government. The Sakhi Mandals of the State are doing better work. His work during the transition period was commendable. Work is being done to benefit them by connecting them with JSLPS. 25 lakh beneficiaries were linked to various insurances of the government. The government is working with the target of connecting 30 lakh beneficiaries, which will be achieved soon. Palash brand will become the identity of Jharkhand. Work is being done in this direction to make it accessible to every block,” he said.

The CM launched Didi Helpline Call Center on the occasion. Under this, any information related to activities related to various schemes implemented by Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society will be available on just one call. The purpose of the helpline is to reach out to the people of remote villages about various schemes of JSLPS and to work for redressal of problems. Information about various schemes operated by JSLPS can be obtained through call on toll free number 18004190400 and 18004197400 of this helpline.

Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rajiv Arun Ekka, Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, Secretary Rural Development Department Manish Ranjan, Chief Executive Officer JSLPS Nancy Sahay and others were present on the occasion.
