During the intensive mask checking drive, FIRs were lodged against 75 people under the Disaster Management Act in Bokaro. Also, Rs 54,000 recovered as fine from 108 people who were caught without a face mask.
An intensive mask checking and COVID protocol implementation drive is going on across the district, amidst a spike in COVID-19 cases. Around 61 new positive cases have been reported on Friday, the active case figure reached to 390, informed Sashi Prakash Singh SDO Chas.
On the directive of Deputy Commissioner Bokaro, an intensive mask checking drive is being carried out at various intersections of the Chas Municipal Corporation (CMC) area, too, he said.
The SDO appealed to masses, “Must wear a mask, follow social distancing and keep your hands constantly sanitized.” He has also appealed to the people 60 years and above and small children to remain at home to keep in mind their health security. “Do not go unnecessary in crowded markets and public areas,” he added.
