Thursday, 13 May 2021 | PNS | Dehradun

Uttarakhand received 80 metric tonnes of oxygen via an oxygen express train sent by the Centre. Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat flagged off the oxygen tankers from Harrawala railway station here to various parts of the state on Wednesday morning.

Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway minister Piyush Goyal, he said that considering the difficult conditions in Uttarakhand, the centre is supplying ample oxygen to the state. Rawat said that the oxygen delivered by train will be sent to various parts of Garhwal and Kumaon.

He said that earlier too there was no oxygen shortage in the state but the consumption is increasing as the number of oxygen beds is increasing.

This oxygen supply will continue in the future too. The CM said that the youths in the state are enthusiastic after the start of vaccination for those aged above 18 years. He stressed on the need for strictly following Covid guidelines and observing precautions at all times for protection from Covid-19.
