Four new persons have tested positive with coronavirus infection in Bokaro district on Friday late evening. Among those who test positive for COVID-19 are an elderly person (66), resident of Karmatand, Tupkadih, a 27 years youth resident of Sector 1, another 44 years man resident of Sector 6A, and one woman resident of Sector 4 f of Bokaro Steel City, informed a district health department official.
A few days earlier, one kid aged about seven years and an elderly woman (67 years) tested positive for Covid-19 in the district. According to the reports, 19470 were tested positive for coronavirus in the district, while 19,180 were recovered. The death toll stands at 286 in the district, he said.
Over 15 lakhs eligible beneficiaries have got their vaccine shots against COVID-19 in the Bokaro district so far. Civil Surgeon Dr. Jitender Kumar Singh informed that a total of 15,04,327 eligible beneficiaries had been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the district by 26 November, including the first dose is 10,75,279 while around 4,29,048 beneficiaries got their second doses.
Singh appealed to the people of the district to reach the vaccination centre in maximum numbers, take the vaccine, and prevent the spread of infection of COVID-19.
He directed the concerned officials to speed up the vaccination campaign.
“We are also conduction an awareness campaign; appeals are being made to the residents of the district to get their vaccine shot for COVID-19 when their turn comes,” added Singh. “There is no need to be afraid of the vaccine; it is completely safe. People should get vaccinated without any hesitation,” he added.
