Buoyed by the success of Mission Shakti, the Uttar Pradesh government is set to launch its next phase to ensure safety, dignity, health, education and self-reliance of women.
Chairing a high-level review meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that there was a need to give a new direction to Mission Shakti along with added energy and spirit and the departments of Health, Education, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Home, Women and Child Development and others should coordinate and prepare a detailed action plan for the next phase.
He also instructed officials to take immediate action against crime involving women and girls.
“Despite the pandemic, many schemes implemented in the state for needy women and girls of rural and urban areas have become a shield for them. Now the government has decided to launch a new phase of Mission Shakti. Schemes like Women Self-Help Group, BC Sakhi have shown the path of self-reliance to women. While other schemes like Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, and Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana have provided major support to the girl child and their parents. Schemes run by the Yogi Adityanath government are focusing on women’s security, education, self-reliance, dignity, health for the all-round development of women,” a top government official said.
