The Yogi government will set up a team of health experts to advise the Team-9 on Covid control in the state. The Team-9 consisting of ministers and senior officers has been the core group to address the issues in the wake of the corona crisis and meets daily under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Reputed doctors from SGPGI, KGMU and RMLIMS will join the advisory committee. Yogi instructed the Medical Education and Health department to take necessary action in this regard.
Addressing a high-level Team-9 meeting on Monday, the CM said that the current strain of coronavirus has constantly been changing and is 30 to 50 times more infectious than it was in the first wave.
“In some cases, it has been observed that the virus is not detected in TruNat, antigen and RT-PCR tests even though its presence in lungs is confirmed through a CT scan. Such a problem has also been observed in people without symptoms,” he pointed out. He stressed on the need to have medical expertise to make further strategies.
He said an advisory panel of health experts should prepare necessary strategies on Covid containment. This panel will be able to provide advice to the state-level Team-9 from time to time and the consultation of health experts will be useful in formulating strategy.
