Thursday, 22 July 2021 | PNS | Ranchi

A webinar on “The Rise of a New World” was organized under the aegis of TED-X Kanke on July 19. The theme of the webinar was “Health Begins from Kitchen”. Live streaming of the webinar was also done on Facebook, YouTube channel and Ted-X Kanke Kakt website. The webinar was coordinated by Kanika Malhotra. The keynote speaker of the webinar was renowned health and dietitian Swati Bathwal.

In the webinar, Swati Bathwal said that people’s lives have changed to some extent due to Covid-19. In such a situation, they have to adopt a healthy lifestyle. For this, they have to incorporate the habit of good sleep, yoga and exercise, eating fresh and balanced food in their behaviour, she added.

Regarding children, she said that today parents are very worried about their young children. Over time, many bad habits develop in children. Therefore, it is important to develop healthy lifestyle habits in children too. Do not give food to the child while watching television. This will prevent him from concentrating on eating. Keep a constant watch on the use of gadgets by the child. If possible, turn on the yellow light on the digital device. This will have less effect on his eyes.

Bathwal said that fat cells start forming in the body from childhood, which continues till the age of 18 years. After this its formation stops, but its size increases.

It takes a long time to get a permanent solution to the problem of weight gain. Therefore, take special care of the food of the children and the ingredients and quantity included in it. Never let external factors dominate you. Take care of your body and try to keep yourself happy always. Always take a balanced nutritional diet. Try to include 300-350 calories in the plate you eat. She advised to use Ayurveda prescriptions instead of pain relievers and painkillers in case of migraine. She answered a variety of questions. Tell people about apple vinegar, seeds, various kitchen spices, the right amount and the benefits of consuming it.

TEDx Kanke curators Rajeev Gupta, Kanishka Poddar, Kanika Malhotra, Bijendra Sharma, Rishabh Malik, Kailash Manjhi, Shivangi Chaudhary, Chandra Mohan Chugh, Praveen Rajgarhia, Atul Agarwal, Rohit Tripathi and Shravan Jajodia contributed to making the webinar a success.
