Advocate Sabat qualifies for (PhD) in Law
Brahmapur: Advocate Panchanan Sabat of Ganjam district has qualified for degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law under the Berhampur University. He had been pursuing his doctoral research under the guidance of Prof Bhagirathi Panigrahi of the university since last about five years on the topic “Women Empowerment and the Law in India: A Socio Legal Study”. His thesis was adjudicated by eminent law teacher Prof Jatindra Kumar Das, Professor of Law of Calcutta University, who highly appreciated the research acumen of the scholar.
B’pur artist makes smallest Thakuanai idol
Brahmapur: Artist Dillip Moharana, a resident of Sana Redika Sahi here, has made the smallest idol of Maa Budhi Thakurani on the occasion of the Budhi Thakurani Jatra. The idol of goddess made with pure wood has a height of half inch only with three eyes, earrings, nose pins. The rare creation has been appreciated by many. Dilip had made similar idols of Maa Durga on the occasion of Dusshera. His smallest crafted idol of one inch had got India and Asia Books of records. He said he was inspired by his father Bhagaban Moharana, brother Manoj and mother Jhunu to perform his art.
Women’s body holds blood donation camp
Cuttack: Leading women’s organisation Mahila Bikash Parisad in association with the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate organised a blood donation camp at Gopinath Pur near Jagatpur. The objective was to meet the blood shortage during the Covid pandemic. The Red Cross blood bank of Cuttack joined the camp and collected 31 units of blood. ACP-cum-joint secretary IRCS Regional Branch Lalitendu Mohanty was chief guest.
