Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), held its convocation ceremony on Saturday where 33 Officers of the Technical Entry Scheme (TES-35) course graduated from the Institution. They were awarded B Tech degrees in IT and Telecommunication from the Jawaharlal Nehru University.
In his address to the graduating course, Lt Gen MU Nair, Sena Medal, Commandant MCTE, exhorted the officers to apply their technical skills and knowledge gained during their course, to enhance the capabilities of our Armed Forces, in meeting the increased threats, specially on emerging domains of cyber, Space and Electromagnetic Spectrum, from our adversaries. The knowledge gained in the domains of Communication, Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics, need to be applied to solve problems in field, to take the Armed Forces to higher levels of excellence, in technology.
The chief guest also brought out the importance of leadership and urged the young leaders to be more courageous and responsible. He exhorted the passing out officers to keep pace with the phenomenal changes in technology, especially in the field of Information and Communication Technology and always strive for professional growth.
The event terminated with felicitation of award winners. Signal Officer in Chief (SO-in-C) trophy and Gold medal for the best student Officer was won by Lt Sachin Kumar.
MCTE with its impressive campus, state of art laboratories, committed instructional staff and a vibrant academic curriculum, conducts both under graduate and postgraduate courses in the Electro Magnetic spectrum domain. The Institution, celebrating its Platinum Jubilee this year, trains over 2000 personnel every year who emerge as the techno warriors of the Indian Armed Forces.
