The Chhattisgarh government has made it mandatory for passengers to undergo Covid tests 72 hours before they reach the state by trains, it was announced on Sunday.
All Divisional Commissioners, District Collectors, Inspectors General of Police and Superintendents of Police have been told to strictly adhere to the guidelines, a press release said.
Passengers without a test report will undergo Covid tests at the railway stations and will be in quarantine or Covid centre or hospital if the result turns out to be positive, the release said.
Similarly, action should be taken as per the Standard Operating Procedure prescribed for contact tracing of Covid positive passengers in trains, it added.
On Saturday, the government made it mandatory for passengers coming by plane to undergo RT-PCR tests 72 hours before flying to the state.
