Police nab 2 bootleggers, seize liquor worth Rs 80K

Gandhi Nagar police have arrested two bootleggers carrying around 52 liters of liquor worth Rs 80,000 was seized from two accused at Ganesh temple square in the night on Saturday.

Police after receiving information of bootleggers bringing illicit liquor from Parwalia  in 3 plastic sacks on motor cycle to Gandhi Nagar police station, on the basis of information received by the police team near Ganesh Mandir intersection in the police station Gandhinagar Bhopal at around 2 in the night two persons Ajab Singh and Firoz Khan alias Rajveer were arrested who were carrying illegally kept liquor in  3 plastic sacks in a motorcycle Hero Passion Pro bike in which 288 quarters of liquor of Royal Stage Company totaling about 52 liters worth Rs 74880. Police registered a case under section 34 (2) of Excise Act.

Meanwhile 6 accused involved in cheating people in the name of exorcism, gang confessed frauds in Baghsewania and  Badi district Raisen. A complaint was lodged by Akhilesh Rawat  regarding fraud of Rs 35000.

Police in the investigaton checked footages of 90 CCTV cameras installed under Bhopal Eye and the footage of cameras installed in PJDA were checked. The accused were identified as Rahul Sahu, Santosh Katkole, Mohit Raikwar, Raju Vishwakarma alias Monu, Sumit Ratnakar and Devi Singh.

Two motor cycles used in the incident and cheated money were recovered. The accused have  criminal record and have been arrested  by Bajaria, Govindpura Bhopal and police station Badi district Raisen.
