Regional Museum of Natural History, Bhopal (A Regional Centre of National Museum of Natural History, New Delhi) organised online lecture on the occasion of World Water Day on Monday under 'Green Talk', an online series of popular lectures on Nature and Environment Conservation. Naresh Jatav, Scientist-B from Central Ground Water Board, Bhopal delivered the lecture on 'Ground Water Development and Management'.
During the lecture, Jatav detailed about measures to increase the level of ground water. He told that most of water runoff and reaches to the sea through rivers. We have to control the runoff of water to increase the level of ground water. Jatav informed that maximum rainfall occurs in Balaghat and minimum in Badvani in the context of Madhya Pradesh. During the lecture Jatav made an appeal that we should make effort to adopt the roof water harvesting to increase the level of ground water.
In the continuation of Green Talk series Prof Sandeep Tambe, IFS, Indian Forest Institute of Management, Bhopal delivered an online lecture on 'Forest Fun Facts' on dated March 21, 2021 on the occasion of “World Forestry Dayâ€. He detailed the types of forests and many interesting facts about the forest, during his lecture.
Manoj Kumar Sharma, Scientist-in-Charge; Beenish Rafat, Scientist-C of the museum and online audiences from throughout India were present during this online lecture, the lecture concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Scientist-C and programme co-ordinator Manik Lal Gupta.
