Poverty and hunger forced three orphan minor siblings in Sundargarh district to leave their studies and take shelter in another’s house to getfood there.

After coming to know about the plight of the children, the officials of District Child Protection Unit, Sundargarh, rescued two siblings on Monday and produced them before the Child Welfare Committee on Monday afternoon. Another brother of the two siblings will be rescued on Tuesday.

The minor children identified as Pintu(14), Tintus(12) and Versa(11) were staying withtheir distressed grandparents, Teleswar and Berna in Pateikani Dhimaverna village under Kinjrikela police station. Since they could not get food to survive, Pintu and Versa were engaged as domestic help in the house of others. Similarly, Tintus(12), was engaged in a house in Lepripada block, to work there, to get shelter and food. These three siblings had been working in three separate houses.

After coming to know about the plight of the siblings recently, as per the direction of the District Child Protection Officer, Sundargarh, two officials of District Child Protection Unit, went to the village of Teleswar on Monday and rescued Pintu from a forest where he was grazing cows  and Versa was also rescued from a farm field where she was working.
