Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Rabindra Nath Mahto, today released a book, “The People's Leader”, based on the biography of former State minister and current MLA Saryu Roy, in the assembly hall of State Secretariat. On this occasion, the CM said that legislator Saryu Roy does not need an introduction. “I have had the opportunity to work with them for a long time and I have always been impressed by his suggestions and thoughts in the House. I think not only me but many people will be influenced by his thoughts,” he said.
“As a good writer and a good politician, he is always discussed among the people. I have personally read many books written by Saryu Roy. He has always accepted challenges and successfully faced them with courage and patience. Saryu Roy has made his own place by following the path of truth. 'Satyamev Jayate' is alive even today because of people like Saryu Roy,” he said, conveying his best wishes to Saryu Roy for moving ahead with unusual thinking.
Soren said that the books written by former minister and sitting MLA Saryu Roy inspire the state government to move ahead with better management. He said that we all have to learn from the mistakes of the past and take the state forward with better management together. He further said that the book 'The People's Leader' written by Vivekanand Jha will give a better direction to the state in the coming times.
On this occasion, Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahato said that it is the responsibility of the grateful society that information about the works of those who do good work should be made available to the people. He said that former minister and current MLA Saryu Roy has always done good work. He has never compromised with his policy and principle by adopting the path of ‘Ekla Chalo’. Roy never supported the wrong people. The Speaker said that the State Government certainly welcomes the suggestions given by Roy in matters related to the State interest and public interest. He said that it is the moral duty of all of us to respect positive actions and good suggestions during the proceedings of the House.
On this occasion, the author of the book 'The People's Leader', Vivekanand Jha gave detailed information about the subject matter of the book. He said that many unexplored aspects of personal, social, political life related to Saryu Roy have been depicted in this book. From the year 1974 student movement, role in Emergency, debut in politics, differences on various issues, role in exposing scams, many other incidents have been mentioned in this book.
On the occasion, the CM and Speaker honoured Saryu Roy with a shawl. Roy expressed his gratitude to the Speaker and the Chief Minister.
On this occasion, former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay, former MLA Radhakrishna Kishore, Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rajiv Arun Ekka, Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, Director of Prabhat Publications Piyush Kumar and other authors along with litterateurs and educationists were present.
