Three passengers killed, several hurt as bus overturns

Three passengers were killed and dozens others were seriously injured when the bus they were travelling in lost control and skidded into a ditch before overturning near Bilsuri village under Secunderabad police station of Bulandshahr on Tuesday.
According to reports, the bus started from Bulandshahr depot and was headed to Ghaziabad along NH 91 when the driver while trying to save an onrushing car sharply swerved to the side and in the process lost control over the wheel. As a result, the bus skidded into a ditch and overturned.
After being informed by locals, the police rushed to the spot and rescued the passengers trapped inside the bus. Relief work was going on at a fast pace as rescue workers were looking for survivors.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep anguish over the incident and extended his condolences to the bereaved families. He directed the authorities to provide proper treatment to those injured in the accident and extend all possible help and relief to the families of the victims.
Other than the three passengers who died, many farmers who were working in paddy fields at the time, were also seriously injured after being crushed under the bus. Senior Superintendent of Police in Bulandshahr, Santosh Kumar Singh, reached the spot and visited the injured at the hospital.
