A webinar on World Justice Day was held on Friday at Rabindra Nath Tagore University . It was organized by the National Service Planning Unit, Women Development Cell and Education and Science Department.
Brijesh Chauhan, Member, Madhya Pradesh Child Rights Protection Commission was present as the keynote speaker. He said that today, we are witnessing incidents of atrocities and exploitation on children around us. One big reason for this is that wrong things keep happening in front of our eyes and remain silent. Giving information on Juvenile Justice Board, Poxo Act and Child Labor Prohibition Laws, he called for volunteers of the National Service Scheme to ensure child rights.
Satyendra Kumar Pandey, programme manager of 'Nivasid Bachpan' institution, said that the rights of children are divided into four parts- 1- Right to live, 2- Right to development, 3- Right to participation and 4- Right to protection. Except for the first one, we are not at all sensitive to the remaining three rights. This is why the childhood of every kid is snatched away, their youth also does not blossom fully.
In the programme, social activist Roli Shivhare, who works on MNREGA, made the youth aware of the nuances of MNREGA law. He said that while MGNREGA can prove to be a milestone in the achievement of the goals of another SDG, on the other hand, it also seems to fulfill the full concept of social justice.
