Sunday, 28 February 2021 | PNS | KENDRAPADA

The Sadar police here arrested a woman for assaulting her octogenarian father-in-law and septuagenarian mother-in-law with the help of her husband following a family feud.

The arrestee was identified as Minati Geru, wife of Akhaya Geru of Sujanagar.

According to Kendrapada Sadar police station IIC Pramod Kumar Mallick, on Friday, Minati’s father-in-law, Rabindra Geru had invited some persons to repair the thatched roof. But his son Akhaya allegedly opposed it, resulting in an altercation between them.

However, irate Akhaya and wife Minati went on assaulting Rabindra and his wife later. Rabindra lodged an FIR against his son and daughter-in-law. The police registered a case and nabbed Minati, while Akahaya fled the village. Minati was produced before a local court.
