3.93 lakhs voters to use their voting rights in fourth phase

In the fourth phase of panchayat election in five blocks of Hazaribag district,  3,93,150 voters will use their voting to determine the fate of 1227 candidates on 1020 booths. The voting will be held from 7 am to 3 pm on 27 May.

Hazaribag Deputy Commissioner Nancy Sahay said that the district administration is fully prepared to conduct the election on 27 May. In a meeting the administration has instructed all the employees and officers to conduct a free and fair poll in the fourth phase.

In the fourth phase elections will be held in Katkamsandi, Katkadag, Hazaribag, Keradari and Barkagaon blocks of the district. In all five blocks 1227 candidates are in the field to test their fate on four different posts.

In five blocks 10 candidates for zila parishad, 88 for Mukhiya’s, 103 for panchayat simiti member and 1026 posts for ward members are in the five blocks.

The DC further said that for the 10 posts of zila parishad members 84 candidates are in the field. For 88 mukhiya posts 637, for 102 panchayat simiti members 417,and for the 676 post of ward members  1731 candidates are in the field.

In fourth phase of election out of 393150 voters 205372 male, 187777 female and one voter is transgender. All the polling personnel and sector magistrates will move to sectors on 26 May. The five blocks have been distributed in 181 sectors for conduct of smooth election in the areas.

She further said that the control room will work 24 hours  to listen to the problems of the voters on polling day. The third and fourth phase counting will be held on 31 May in the campus of Krishi Utpadan Bazar Simiti Ranchi- Patna road.
