Cong complaints to CEO against Rawat’s morphed pic

Saturday, 05 February 2022 | PNS | Dehradun

Agitated over circulation of morphed pictures of its leader Hairsh Rawat ostensibly by the BJP leaders and Twitter handle of the party, a delegation of Congress leaders met the chief electoral officer of Uttarakhand on Friday and lodged a complaint of violation of model code of conduct (MCC). The delegation led by the party’s state vice president Surendra Kumar told the CEO Sowjanya that on February 2 BJP leader Tajendra Bagga uploaded doctored pictures of Harish Rawat and other Congress leaders on his Twitter handle and Facebook. In these pictures Rawat is shown as resembling the Aligarh Muslim University founder Syed Ahmad Khan. The Congress leaders said that apart from vilifying the image of the head of the campaign committee and former chief minister the social media post is an attempt to create communal discord. The delegation requested that strict action should be taken against Bagga for the attempt to affect the election process.
