The crime branch and Talaiya police have arrested Sajid alias Mannu and Asim Khan, accused of attack on advocate Deepesh Sharma on May 20, sharp edged weapon and motorcycle used in the crime were also recovered.
On May 20 near Hamidia hospital east gate in the evening Deepesh Sharma was going from court to Tilajmalpura via Iqbal Maidan. Even before this, advocate Dipesh Sharma had a fight with the boy working at Shahini Medical Store, after that Mohammad Asim and Sajid alias Mannu reached in front of the east gate, a boy came from the wrong side driving a motorcycle and abused victim and attacked with a sharp edged weapon on his neck. Victim lodged a complaint and a case was registered against the two.
Later police added attempt to murder charges after advocates staged protest at disrict court.
During the investigation, the two were arrested from Islamigate. The vehicle used in the incident was recovered from the possession which was bearing registration number MP04MS1668. DCP Zone-03 Riyaz Iqbal has announced a cash award of Rs 10000 to the team.
