The Kutra police of Sundargarh district have registered a case against a youth on Thursday, for raping a 12-year-old minor girl and making her pregnant. The victim is now seven months' pregnant. The accused youth has absconded and police have launched a manhunt to arrest him. The victim studies in an Ashram school. Her mother lodged an FIR in Kutra police station on Wednesday evening in this regard.
She complained that while her daughter was at her home alone during November 2021, one youth identified as Bishnu Hess (23), a neighbourer of her home, had entered into her house and had raped her and had threatened her not to reveal the matter to anyone. Bishnu thereafter allegedly forcibly kept physical relation with the victim. Later in January, 2022, her pregnancy was detected at the school.
“The accused is absconding but we'll arrest him soon,” Inspector Incharge, Kutra police Parida, S Parida said.
