The Hasa, Yoga and Vyayam Kendra (HYVK) of Baristha Nagarik Manch (BNM), Lanjipalli, celebrated the 8th International Yoga Day under the guidance of well-known life scientist and former Professor of Berhampur University Bhaskar Padhy here in the premises of Divine Life Society, Lanjipalli.
At the outset, BNM secretary Biswanath Padhi explained the members about the aims and objectives of the day. Pramod K Misra, an active member of HYVK, performed and showed some of the most popular and helpful aasanas and physical exercises helpful for the senior citizens. Former Principal of Government Biju Patnaik Homoeopathy College and honorary physician of free homoeopathic treatment centre being organized by HYVK, explained the impact and significance of yoga on health care.
Prof Bhaskar Padhy in his presidential address explained the role of yoga on human physiology and metabolism.
More than 60 members namely, PK Panda, KK Rao, SR Panigrahi, SN Mohanty, KC Padhy, WK Rao, CM Sahu, Er BD Sahu, G Panigrahi, B Sahu, KS Rao, G Nahak, S Panda, D Acharya participated.
