Thursday, 24 November 2022 | PNS | Ranchi

Jharkhand is all set to celebrate its State Day at IITF 2022 on Thursday, November 24. In the august presence of Chief Minister, Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, the ceremony will be held at Amphitheatre in Pragati Maidan. Traditional songs and dance forms from Jharkhand will feature in the cultural programme.

With various stalls at Jharkhand Pavilion in the trade fair drawing massive crowds this year, the show has been impressive in many ways. Aligned with the CM's vision, the Jharkhand Pavilion showcases different initiatives rolled out to strengthen the rural economy and generate self-employment opportunities at the rural level in the Jharkhand state. Big crowds are turning up to find out about rural progress in Jharkhand.

The stall of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry Department's Organic Farming, Department of Forest stall, Department of Energy's JREDA stall, Mukhyamantri Laghu Evam Kutir Udyam Vikas Board's stall displayed handmade wooden, bamboo-made name plates, trays, and key rings by various artisans. Visitors liked pen stands, tea coasters, serving plates, showpieces, and idols.

At the ongoing India International Trade Fair, New Delhi, the Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation is offering information about the extent of organic farming currently undertaken in Jharkhand. This stall has become a centre of attraction for residents of Delhi. Organic Farming Authority of Jharkhand (OFAJ) has displayed organic products through its stall where visitors are getting information pertaining to organic agriculture through booklets, documentary films etc. Hundreds of visitors are coming to the organic farming stall and gathering information about the ongoing initiatives to promote Organic Farming in Jharkhand.

While talking to media, OFAJ’s Dr. M. Shiva said, “Presently, about 97000 farmers are associated with OFAJ and more than 1 lakh hectares of land is cultivated under organic farming. In the coming years, the extent of organic farming is proposed to cover 20 lakh hectares of land in the state of Jharkhand. To provide poison-free, non-toxic, and safe food grains to ensure the health of adults and children, OFAJ is conducting organic farming in the state of Jharkhand. With these goals in mind, OFAJ has undertaken a humble initiative to set up an interactive exhibition stall at the IITF this year."

It is a matter of great honour for Jharkhand to be a partner state in the India International Trade Fair 2022 scheduled till 27th of November 2022. The traditional tribal jackets, shirts, towels, gamchas, and caps put on display by the tribal weavers, artisans, women entrepreneurs of Jharkhand have attracted visitors.
