Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati accused the Bharatiya Janata Party and Samajwadi Party of colluding to give a communal and casteist colour to the UP assembly elections.
In a tweet, Mayawati also cautioned the people against these designs citing media reports mostly highlighting communal and casteist hatred promoted by these two parties.
"The way religion and caste politics dominate the UP assembly elections, and the media is also full of such news, it seems that all this is happening as the SP and the BJP are colluding to give the elections the colour of hatred on Hindu-Muslim and casteist lines. People need to remain alert," the former chief minister of UP tweeted.
Earlier too, the BSP chief had slammed the BJP, saying that the party was trying to capitalise on the development works done by the BSP government in the past.
In a recent tweet, Mayawati posted, "Under the BSP government in UP, about two and a half lakh poor families were provided with basic amenities and preparations were underway for about 15-20 lakh houses, but due to the change in government, that work remained incomplete, which the BJP is trying to capitalise on. What did they do on their own?"
"Fear, corruption, discrimination, and insecurity of life and property, poor law and order in UP, unemployment, and migration of lakhs are the biggest problems of this state," she said in another tweet.
