One of the partners in the ruling alliance in the State, the Congress party is in the race for the imminent Rajya Sabha elections which will be held for two seats. In this episode, on Thursday, under the leadership of State Congress in-Charge, Avinash Pandey a delegation of the party leaders met Chief Minister (CM), Hemant Soren and presented their claim for the Rajya Sabha seat.
During this, while the latest situation in the State was discussed among the leaders, the Rajya Sabha election was at the center of the discussion.
Talking to a media person after the meeting with CM, Pandey said that the Congress leaders put it before the CM that in the last elections, the Congress had supported JMM Supremo, Shibu Soren. In this election, the first seat should go to the Congress, the JMM should consider it seriously, he added.
The Congress State In-Charge further said that there were talks with the CM about the Rajya Sabha elections as well. He said that it is not a big issue. “There will be an opinion on this matter by sitting together. The CM has been informed of the party’s claim and there is time the decision will be taken after completely considering the leaders of both the parties,” he added.
In response to a question, Pandey said that a conspiracy is being hatched to defame the Government, which we will fight strongly. All the parties will go together for welfare schemes among the people, he added.
“In the year 2022, the party will organize many programs. Pad Yatra will be taken out at the district level on August 9. A 75 km padyatra will be taken out under the leadership of every district Congress president. On August 15, on the 75th anniversary of independence, Prabhat Pheri will be taken out at the district, block and booth level of the state. A program will be organized in the district headquarters throughout the day with the popular hymn named 'Raghupati Radhav Raja' in the ferry,” said Pandey.
Talking to the media persons after the meeting Congress Legislature Party leader Almigir Alam in this regard, he said that there is still a lot of time in the Rajya Sabha elections. “Be sure that the candidate will be from the Grand Alliance, he added.
Alam said that the party had conveyed its sentiment to the CM only yesterday and the Congress party has also received positive assurance from the CM. “We hope that this time the Congress candidate will get the support of JMM,” he added. Responding to a question, he said that the BJP will fight with lakhs of tricks, and the Government of Mahagathbandhan will complete its term with strength.
