Dr Abhinav Singh, Additional Professor in Department of Dentistry, at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhopal has been awarded with the Dental Public Health Academic Award for the year 2023 at the 63rd Foundation Day of National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), in presence of Rajnath Singh, the Honorable Union Minister for Defence, Govt. of India, at New Delhi.
The Union Minister for Defence, Rajnath Singh was the Chief Guest for the occasion. He attended the meeting and award ceremony virtually due to health-related issues. He blessed all the newly established AIIMS for the work being carried out during his address.
Dr Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to Govt. of India, the Guest of Honor for the occasion and Dr Shiv K Sarin, President NAMS handed the award on behalf and presence of the Defence Minister. The ceremony was also attended by the other dignitaries from the three units of the armed forces.
The award by the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), India was in recognition of the research work and projects carried out during the past few years. His paper which won the award was: Loneliness and disability as predictors for oral diseases among 2 group of older adults in Central India, which is published in Journal of American Dental Association, an official publication of American Dental Association.
The academic award caries a scroll, cash award and a commemorative medal and was presented on April 21, 2023 at the foundation day of National Academy of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) India is a nodal agency under the Govt. of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare which acts as an advisory body to the Government in matters related to National Health Policy, Planning and Central coordinating agency for planning organizing and monitoring continuing medical education program all over the country.
