Taking a strong note, Union Minister and member of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), Meenakshi Lekhi has refused to approve the minutes of the meeting highlighting some discrepancies.
In a letter to NDMC Chairman Amit Yadav, Lekhi highlighted that the decisions taken by the Council regarding serious irregularities have not been included in the minutes of the meeting. “Instead, they have been kept out of the minutes and added as supplementary points on a separate page,” she said.
“It may be noted that these are not mere points raised by me or other members. They are issues on which the Council deliberated for long and took concrete decisions. Therefore, they should be listed as 'Decisions taken by the Council. In the past, whenever the Council has discussed and decided on sensitive issues which were not part of the transaction of business (agenda), such decisions were always incorporated in the minutes,” Lekhi said in her letter.
The Union Minister also enclosed copies of minutes of the council’s meeting no. 07/2017-18 dt 16.10.2017, 15/2016-17 dt 06.03.2017, 02/2020-21 dt 04.08.2020).
“In Sl. No. 1, item attributed to me, there is gross misrepresentation. It had been decided that since the matter of Bus-Q-Shelters involved a former chairperson, it Could not be examined by the CVO and instead should be referred to CVC for an independent enquiry,” reads the letter.
“The matter of illegal restaurant near Netaji Nagar Musical Fountain had been brought to the notice of the Council in a previous meeting by member Kuljeet Chahal. In this meeting the Council decided that since there were Health license Violations, besides others, immediate action should be taken as per law,” she said.
