Taiwan Expo India 2024 kicks off

The three-day Taiwan Expo India 2024  which kicked off here from Tuesday at Bharat Mandapam has over 60 companies presenting cutting-edge solutions in smart manufacturing, green sustainability, healthy living, and smart city development. The event is a crucial platform for exploring green energy and smart technology advancements and facilitating collaborations between Taiwanese innovators and Indian stakeholders.

However, the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion featuring products from 24 Taiwanese brands across AI applications, ICT, industrial applications, lifestyle, and medical sectors is drawing many visitors since the inauguration of Expo on Tuesday here.

The inauguration kicked off with a dynamic product launch session, spotlighting HERO products from industry leaders like ADVANTECH, GIGABYTE, Mbran Filtra, MSI, and Zyxel. Additionally, 19 other prominent brands such as AVer, CHIMEI MOTOR, CyberPower, and EverFocus are showcasing their world-class offerings, underscoring Taiwan’s prowess in innovation and technology.

James CF Huang, Chairman of Taiwanese trade promotion organisation TAITRA, Tih-Ju Chu, Deputy Mayor of New Taipei City Government, and Pu Lalduhoma, Chief Minister of Mizoram were among those who graced the inauguration event, highlighting its significance in fostering bilateral ties between India and Taiwan.

Organized annually by Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs' International Trade Administration (MOEA) in collaboration with TAITRA, Taiwan Expo aims to bolster long-term partnerships between the two nations. Brian Lee, Director of TAITRA’s Strategic Marketing Department, said, “India’s robust economic growth presents a remarkable opportunity for Taiwan's government and businesses. Taiwan can make significant contributions to India’s healthcare, ICT, and construction sectors, leveraging advanced technology to achieve global leadership. Both sectors have witnessed remarkable growth and transformation in India, where technology continues to play a pivotal role.”

Taiwanese enterprises have invested over USD 4 billion in India, spanning sectors from footwear and machinery to automobile components, petrochemicals, and ICT products, showcasing Taiwan’s commitment to India’s economic landscape.

In Taiwan, we are focussing on sustainability ie based on ESG (Environment, social responsibility, and Governance). We are also looking for partners who can use green products and, green technology to tackle the climate change-induced challenges.
In line with promoting sustainability, Taiwan Excellence has launched the “Go Green with Taiwan” campaign, encouraging innovative proposals integrating Taiwanese sustainable green products. The campaign offers USD 20,000 in prizes to the top three entries, with submissions open until August 31.
