Unknown criminals shot and killed a 48-year-old businessman while he was getting a haircut at Serenghatu Salon located in the Senha police station area of the district on Monday. On receiving information about the incident, Senha police station reached there and took the body into custody and handed it over to the family members after post-mortem.
According to the information, the deceased had come to Deepak Thakur's salon running in Ramjatan Sahu's house on Lohardaga-Bhandra main road in Serenghatu of Senha police station area, where while getting his haircut, unknown criminals killed him and fled from the scene. The deceased has been identified as Naresh Sahu alias Shibu, 48, son of late Rammohan Sahu, resident of Sobran Toli.
Locals said that when Naresh Sahu was getting his hair done and beard shaved, the criminal who arrived at the same time entered the salon, placed the barrel of the pistol on Naresh Sahu's head and fired, and fled away on a motorcycle along with his other two companions. Due to the low sound of the gunshot, people nearby came to know about the incident late. Apart from the deceased, only the barber was present in the shop at the time of the incident.
After getting information about the incident, there was chaos in Serenghatu and a crowd of local villagers gathered. On receiving information about the incident, trainee SP Vedant Shankar and other police officers reached the spot.
The police team took immediate action, took possession of the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem, police have started further action. At present the reasons for the murder have not been revealed. According to the information received from the sources, Naresh Sahu alias Shibu Sahu used to do the cement business along with buying and selling of land.
