Prez Murmu to visit Ranchi on Feb 28 for CUJ convocation

President Draupadi Murmu will be present on the occasion of the third convocation of the Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) on February 28.

President Murmu will give 3 Chancellor's Medals, 64 Gold Medals and 35 PhD degrees to the students during the ceremony. She will attend the function as the chief guest. The convocation ceremony will formally begin with the arrival of the academic procession into the auditorium. Along with the President; Governor CP Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister, Champai Soren, Minister of State for Education, Government of India, Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor, statutory officers, members of the Court, Executive Council and Academic Council of the University will participate.

With the permission of the Chancellor, the commencement of the convocation will be announced and certificates will be given to the medal and degree recipients. The Vice Chancellor of the University will be responsible for welcoming the guests. He will also present the report of the university. The President will also address the students and audience at the function. Out of total 1539 passed students, about 917 have registered for the convocation. They will be awarded the degree during the convocation ceremony.

The Central University has 9 schools and 24 departments. The flagship academic program of the university is a 5-year UG-PG course in 20 subjects in addition to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The programs of the University have been developed in accordance with the National Education Policy-2020 and the curriculum and credit framework of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The university also offers doctoral programs in science, engineering, humanities and social sciences, mass communication and management subjects.
