Special de-addiction campaign to be run in Indore

A special de-addiction campaign will be run in Indore district to free the citizens, especially the youth, from drug addiction?.  Under this campaign, special focus will be given on public awareness, Other special efforts will also be made under the campaign to get rid of drugs , This campaign will be run jointly by the district administration, police and voluntary organizations.

This information was given in the meeting held under the chairmanship of Indore Collector Ashish Singh. Additional Police Commissioner Amit Singh, District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Siddharth Jain, Joint Director of Social Justice Department  Suchita Beck Tirkey and officials of other concerned departments and officials of social organizations related to de-addiction were present in the meeting.

In the meeting, Collector Ashish Singh said that with joint efforts this drug de-addiction campaign will be made result oriented. This fight to get rid of drug addiction is definitely long but success will definitely be achieved in it. He said that under the campaign, awareness activities will be organized continuously in schools and colleges.

 Collector Ashish Singh also sought suggestions from the social workers working for de-addiction present in the meeting, on which Vikas Vishwa Kalyan Samriddhi Sanstha President and journalist Vikas Tyagi suggested in the meeting that just as citizens go to visit different exhibition, like clothes exhibition, photo exhibition or go to visit the zoo, in this way, an exhibition center exhibition hall should be created for the students to create awareness about drugs, which should act as an awareness center and in this exhibition center awareness center, information related to the ill effects of drugs should be displayed  in form of photo and picture gallery. Information about physical, mental and economic and social harms should be given to the students in the form of photo exhibition and various School students should be invited to this awareness center so that they come to this awareness center during their educational journey and can see with their own eyes the terrible harms and terrible deadly diseases caused by drugs through photo exhibition , Indore Collector Ashish Singh accepted and appreciated the suggestion of journalist Vikas Tyagi in the meeting itself and issued instructions to create a permanent photo exhibition  awareness center to make students aware. 

Apart from awareness, the campaign will also focus on monitoring, implementation and enforcement.

In the meeting, Additional Police Commissioner Amit Singh said that strict action will be taken against drug sellers for this, the information system is being strengthened Through the campaign, our effort will be to reduce the demand for drugs Drug use should be discouraged He said that under the campaign, collective efforts will be made to get rid of drug addiction In the campaign, efforts will be made to identify drug addicts and connect them with the mainstream.

Information about legal provisions regarding de-addiction was given in the meeting. It was informed in the meeting that many institutions are being run by voluntary organizations for de-addiction in Indore. In the meeting, information was given regarding the departmental action plan prepared by the Social Justice Department for de-addiction Information was given that the de-addiction counseling center and Child de-addiction center will be shortly started.

Drug de-addiction committee will be formed at school and college level Teachers will also be given training for public awareness
