Two juveniles allegedly brutally stabbed to death a 21- year-old man in north Delhi’s Timarpur area over refusing to give them a matchbox. According to the police on Sunday, both of the juveniles have been apprehended from their hideouts nearby.
A PCR call was received at the Timarpur police station on Saturday regarding stabbing of a man identified as Anshu Bhati. On the receipt of the call, police reached the spot and found that there was a pool of blood inside the auto and its surroundings where the altercation between the victim and juveniles happened over a matchbox.
“It came into notice that the injured was shifted to Hindu Rao Hospital. Thereafter, ASI RadheyKishan reached at Hindu Rao Hospital and collected Medicolegal cases (MLC) report. The deceased was declared brought dead by the Doctors.
Thereafter, the crime scene was inspected by the Crime team and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team and photographs were taken with different angles,” DCP North Delhi Manoj Meena said.
An FIR under section 302 (Punishment for murder), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC was registered upon the statement of an eyewitness Varun.
Post mortem of the deceased was conducted and the dead body was handed over to his relatives.
“On Saturday, Children in Conflict with Law (CCL) asked the victim to give him a matchbox, he refused to do so and hot arguments were exchanged between them. Meanwhile one CCL has assaulted the victim with a sharp edged knife,” he said, adding that both the CCL, who were about 16 years old, absconded.
On the basis of local intelligence and CCTV footage both were apprehended within 12 hours of the incident. Further, one of the apprehended CCL was also previously involved in heinous crime, according to the police.
“One knife, which was used in commission of offence has been recovered from one CCL and both CCLs have been sent to OHB-2 in protective custody,” added the DCP.
