Lauren Powell Jobs, wife of Apple co-founder and billionaire entrepreneur Steve Jobs, unexpectedly cut short her visit to the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj after experiencing allergic reactions.

Powell Jobs, who had planned a ten-day stay, left just three days into her trip. She is reported to be staying in Bhutan for the next few days.

Lauren Powell Jobs arrived in Prayagraj on January 13 to participate in the grand spiritual event. During her visit, she stayed at the camp of Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri of the Niranjani Akhara. Her initial plan included taking a holy dip during Makar Sankranti, but she was unable to do so due to health issues.

On Wednesday, Powell Jobs received a spiritual initiation from her guru, Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri, who imparted the Mahakali Beej Mantra to her. She has been instructed to chant “Om Kreem Mahakalika Namah” as part of her spiritual practice.

Acharya Kailashanand Giri praised Powell Jobs for her humility and simplicity, emphasizing that despite being one of the wealthiest and most famous individuals in the world, she remains free of ego and does not indulge in pretentiousness. He described her as very gentle and kind, adding that her quest for spirituality led her to the Maha Kumbh, where she was given the name “Kamala.” He noted her low-key approach to life, often wearing simple clothes and interacting with others in a modest manner.

In her journey before the Maha Kumbh, Powell Jobs visited the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, where she performed a boat ride on the Ganges and received blessings from the temple’s outer sanctum, adhering to the traditional practice of not touching the Shiva Lingam as a non-Hindu.

The Maha Kumbh also saw a historic milestone on Wednesday with the launch of an international flight from Prayagraj Airport, marking the first such departure in 93 years. The flight, which carried Powell Jobs to Bhutan, was part of a growing trend, as international visitors, including expatriate Indians and foreign nationals, can now travel directly to Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh. This development also led to the deployment of immigration officers at the airport for the first time.
