A 90-day outreach and legal awareness programme was launched at Babu Dinesh Singh University in Garhwa. The programme was organised by the District Legal Services Authority, Garhwa, with support from the National Legal Services Authority and the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority.
The event was opened by the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Nalin Kumar, who is also the Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority. Dinesh Kumar, District and Additional Sessions Judge, was the guest of honour.
The programme began with a lamp lighting ceremony. Dr Tanya from Vananchal Dental College hosted the event.
Nalin Kumar spoke about the law, explaining the Constitution and its rules. He also gave advice on how to avoid cybercrime fraud and how to get help if you are a victim.
Dinesh Kumar talked about protecting children from sexual offences under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
Shivnath Tripathi, District and Sessions Judge 3, discussed intellectual property and motor vehicle law. Ravi Chaudhary, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, explained the history of the National Legal Services Authority and its work.
Monica Prasad, SDJM, spoke about violence against women. Abhinav Kumar, Civil Judge Junior Division and Magistrate, talked about cybercrime and cybersecurity.
Around 500 people attended the programme, including students, doctors, staff, and university employees.
