EESL and DVC join hands for advance energy efficiency

Saturday, 15 February 2025 | PNS | Jamshedpur

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a JV of PSUs under Ministry of Power, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) on the Day 4 of India Energy Week 2025 (IEW 2025) in New Delhi.

This strategic partnership aims to advance collaboration in energy efficiency, renewable energy, e-mobility, and resource conservation to support DVC’s decarbonization initiatives.

Speaking on the occasion, chairman of DVC, Suresh Kumar said, “As we move towards achieving our decarbonization goals, this partnership with EESL will play a crucial role in enhancing our energy efficiency measures and deploying clean energy solutions across DVC’s operational areas.”

EESL, leveraging its technical expertise and innovative business models will support DVC in executing and implementing various energy efficiency and clean energy programs. This partnership will focus on the implementation of the Street Lights National Program (SLNP), including industrial and solar streetlights.

It will also drive energy efficiency in buildings through the deployment of energy-efficient fans, super-efficient air conditioners, chillers, and industrial lighting solutions. Additionally, it will introduce cutting-edge industrial energy efficiency solutions and expand decentralized solar programs, including solar rooftop installations, solar carports, and solar tree installations. Hybrid thermal solar solutions will also be promoted to enhance energy efficiency.

The partnership aims to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility solutions, including electric cars, electric buses, and electric cycles, alongside the development of EV charging infrastructure. Smart metering solutions will be implemented for improved energy management, and trigeneration projects will be advanced to ensure efficient energy utilisation.

Under the National Motor Replacement Program (NMRP), inefficient motors will be replaced with energy-efficient alternatives, and energy-efficient pumps will be installed to enhance operational efficiency. Comprehensive energy audits will be conducted to identify and implement efficiency measures.
